Two of our amazing partner agencies ❤️

Reason #1 why small communities rock!!

Vanessa Hilvers put together 20 Care Boxes along with Blankets as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Service Project!! These boxes are ready to be distributed to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

“I would love to donate these care boxes to PCAP and help get them into the hands of patients who could benefit from them.”

Thank you so much Vanessa!!! Your generosity will definitely be a blessing!!!

A huge THANK YOU to the John Henry Eldred Foundation and Walmart Spark Grant for supporting our Back-to-School Assistance Program through grant funding!

Because of your generosity, the United Way of Putnam County can continue to provide backpacks and supplemental school supplies to income-eligible families throughout Putnam County.

As the cost of school supplies continues to rise, programs like this help lessen the financial burden for local families and ensure students start the school year prepared and confident.

It is our mission that every child in Putnam County has the tools they need to succeed in school, and your support helps make that possible.

Thank you for investing in the children and families of our community! ❤️

Today we’re celebrating 3 years with our Executive Director, Ashley Baumgartner, at the United Way 💙

Get to know Ashley a little more:

Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Ashley moved to Putnam County in the 7th grade and officially became a naturalized U.S. citizen on July 4, 2025, a milestone that reflects her deep love for the community she now calls home.

Before stepping into nonprofit leadership, she spent 13 years in early childhood education, including 8 years as an administrator, helping shape and support young lives from the very beginning.

If you know Ashley, you know she truly doesn’t know a stranger. Whether at an event, in the office, or out in the community, she has a gift for connecting with people wherever she goes.

She’s also a proud all-boy mom of four, with three sons currently in high school, so life outside of work is just as busy and full of energy.

Professionally, Ashley is passionate about advocating for those in need, bridging community gaps, building strong partnerships among organizations, and leading with the belief that “We are all better, together.”

Thank you, Ashley, for your leadership, heart, and commitment to making our communities stronger every single day.
