In Case You Missed It… Highlights from the May 13, 2026 Franklin County Commission Meeting:

✓ Issued a proclamation designating May 10–16, 2026 as National Police Week

✓ Approved consent agenda, including claim vouchers and tax change orders, meeting minutes from May 6, 2026, the Health Department first quarter 2026 adjustment report, and Health Department Master and Self Pay Fee Schedules for July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027

✓ Approved pledging up to $300,000 to Husker Steel for replacement of Bridge 7.0-7.1 near 1525 John Brown Road, along with $3,500 to CFS Engineers for required permits and hydrology reports. The goal is for construction to begin this fall and be completed by the end of 2026.

✓ Approved Neighborhood Revitalization properties

• Proclamation designating May 10–16, 2026 as National Police Week
• Consider approval of up to $300,000 to Husker Steel for replacement of the John Brown Road bridge, along with $3,500 for required engineering permits and hydrology reports
• Consider approval of Neighborhood Revitalization properties

✓ Approved consent agenda, including meeting minutes from April 22, 2026, claim vouchers and tax change orders, and payroll for the March 21 – April 20, 2026 pay period

✓ Awarded the elevator modernization bid to Allrise Elevator Company

✓ Approved rezoning application #2601-0068 (Roath) to rezone approximately 5 acres from agricultural to residential estate

✓ Appointed Susan Moore to the Franklin County Planning Commission

✓ Approved migrating the county’s parcel geodatabase to the ArcGIS Pro Parcel Fabric platform ($19,750) to modernize parcel management

✓ Received the Risk Management Achievement Award from KCAMP, recognizing the County’s commitment to safety, training, and risk reduction, along with a $6,703 check
