π BACK TO SCHOOL β SLOW DOWN, STAY ALERT! π
School is back, and that means more kids, buses, bicycles, and pedestrians sharing our roads.
π Drivers:
β’ Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
β’ Stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
β’ Watch carefully for children crossing the street or walking near traffic.
β’ Put the phone down and keep your attention on the road.
β’ Give buses plenty of room and be patient when they stop frequently.
πΆ Students & Pedestrians:
β’ Use crosswalks and designated crossing areas whenever possible.
β’ Look both ways before crossing the street.
β’ Stay alert and avoid distractions when walking near traffic.
π² Bicyclists:
β’ Wear a properly fitted helmet.
β’ Ride in the direction of traffic and obey traffic signs.
β’ Use extra caution around driveways, intersections, and school drop-off areas.
A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference.
Let's start the school year by looking out for our kids, our neighbors, and one another.
π« Slow down. Stay alert. Share the road. Have a safe school year!
