We understand that we are open today while many other government buildings are closed.

While we are working, we are celebrating and remembering the brave soldiers and politicians that made Juneteenth possible.

From Fredrick Douglas’s great speeches such as “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” to his pressure on Lincoln to allow black troops to serve.

From President Lincoln’s Emancipation proclamation to the 10,000 black troops who, along with their comrades, bravely reunited Texas under Union law and freed 250,000 Texas slaves two and a half years later.

We remember their efforts and how they led our nation towards a more free society for all.

We also heed the warnings of the past, ensuring that we all continue to fight today to ensure that the evils of slavery are ended worldwide.

Take today to remember our American History and also those who still need liberated all around the world.

Can you believe that June is halfway over! Neither can our staff!

Here is an updated calendar of the rest of June.

Going forward our DND club has been replaced by our Beyblade X club. We hope to restart the DND group again in the near future.

The Theater activity has been canceled. We were excited to partner with the Benton County Theater Group, but due to a lack of registration throughout the county, they were forced to cancel. We are still open to working with them in the future. We believe they are a great group and support them as they continue to bring the arts into our greater Benton community.

We hope to see you in this June. Reminder that our reading challenges extend all the way until July 11th!
