What an honor for the Ottoville Fire Department! During the 152nd Annual N.O.V.F.A. Firefighters Convention in Ottawa, Ohio, Engine 111 was recognized with the “Best New Truck – 2000 and Newer” award.

The Brotherhood & Sisterhood is strong in the Fire Service so when one of our own is in need - we pull out all the stops to help out.

Join us for a Chicken BBQ like no other. We will be serving a huge amount of chicken with 2 locations at both the Kalida Fire Station and at the Continental Fire Station. We will start serving drive thru at both locations at 11:00 till sold out.

Bring extra cash as we will he hosting a Fill the Boot as well with the proceeds going to Brian’s fight.

Today we got to do another extrication training.

The training covered vehicle stabilization, coordinated lifting operations, and scene safety, with a strong emphasis on creating maximum patient access while minimizing movement and risk to the occupant. Excellent teamwork and solid hands-on practice with the advanced ‘Crack the Egg’ extrication technique

“Cracking the Egg” is a specialized vehicle extrication technique used in emergency rescue operations, primarily for cars overturned on their roof.

Today we trained on extrication
This extrication training scenario involved a vehicle that had rolled onto its side and become pinned beneath a large fallen tree. Firefighters practiced scene stabilization, tree removal, vehicle access, and patient extrication techniques in a complex rescue environment.
