Don't miss preschool storytime tomorrow morning at 10am!

We'll read stories, sing songs, learn rhymes, and a do craft! This storytime is aimed at children aged 3-5 but older or younger children are welcome.

Our young friend, Hazel, was so proud of herself for reading 1,000 books before Kindergarten, as she should be!! Congrats to Hazel! We are so proud of her and her family, what an accomplishment! Awesome job, Hazel!!!

The Ottumwa Public Library is terribly sad to learn that Dolly Parton has passed away. She accomplished so much good in her life through her music and her generosity in creating and funding the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. In Wapello County alone she has gifted books to thousands of children and her legacy in literacy will live on here and all over the world. RIP Dolly Parton.

Today marks the opening day for donations at the Pages for Pennies book sale. Before bringing your gently used books, games, dvds, LPs, or puzzles down to the Bridge View Center please watch our video. If you would like to volunteer for the sale or sorting please contact Sonja at the library at 641-682-7563.

We’re thrilled to share that the 2026 Pages for Pennies Sale is happening September 25–27, just six months away!

Have books, puzzles, board games, movies, or music to donate? We’ll begin accepting donations on August 24, with a four-week donation window.

The Ottumwa Public Library will be hosting a representative from Iowa Legal Aid to discuss legal topics aimed at seniors. It will be tomorrow, Tuesday August 25th at 11 am in the meeting room at the library.
