- The Ouray Police Department appreciates comments and posts from viewers, whether you agree with our post or not. However, your comments must be appropriate and relevant, or they will be removed.
- We are committed to responding as quickly as we can to posts, comments, and questions – and we aim to clarify any details or specifics as best as we can.
- Police Department Official Social Media Posts that are Exempt from engaging in Public Comment/Dialogue. What does this mean? This means, that the Chief, Sergeant, Officers, and staff will not reply to public comments on such posts. While we do appreciate the public commenting and engaging with us on our social media, the purpose of the below-referenced posts is for INFORMATION ONLY and not a platform to have a one-on-one conversation.
- We understand that there will be times when you don’t agree with what we have posted, and you have a right to express your disagreement. However, we will not tolerate any abusive language towards our officers, or anyone who has commented on our page. Offensive, disparaging, and insulting posts will be deleted. Posts that will be deleted include:
- Any content that is profane, obscene or abusive;
- Any content that is defamatory or violates the privacy of others;
- Any content that in any way promotes discrimination regarding race, color, age, religion, gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, nationality, etc.;
- Any solicitations;
- Any content that advocates illegal activity or violence;
- Any content that could compromise the safety of our officers and employees.
