Crooked Lake Township (CLT) Property Owner:

Crooked Lake Township (Outing) will be offering the service of spraying dust control (Calcium Chloride) on some of our CLT maintained roads again this year. The spray will be approximately 20’ wide this year. We hope to have this completed before the first week in June. Please talk to your neighbors too if they are interested in this service.

Cost is $1.37 per gallon. All rates are rounded up to .50 or .00 mark

The following is the cost this year:

$1.37 Per gallon

50' - 27.78 gallons X $1.37 = $38.50
100' - 55.56 gallons X $1.37 = $76.50
150' - 83.5 gallons X $1.37 = $114.50
200' - 111.11 gallons X $1.37 = $152.50

If you are interested in having this done, please send in payment for the amount of road footage you wish to have sprayed. If you have any questions or need help in figuring out your cost, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Checks MUST be made payable to Crooked Lake Township. The deadline for checks is no later than May 12, 2025. No exceptions to the deadline as the CLT employees will start marking the roads shortly after that date. With your check, please Identify the address you are paying to have sprayed, provide your email address and provide your phone number.

Watercraft Inspectors Wanted for 2026 Season

WaterGuards is currently hiring seasonal staff for the 2026 Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Watercraft Inspection program. We are looking for individuals interested in working outdoors this spring and summer to help protect Minnesota lakes.

AIS Inspectors play a key role in inspecting watercraft for invasive species. This is a paid position, and all staff are trained and certified by the Minnesota DNR. Training begins in early April, with shifts scheduled at assigned lakes throughout the season.

Position Highlights:

- Outdoor work at lake accesses
- Flexible scheduling options
- Excellent experience for students in natural resources, environmental science, or outdoor recreation

Position Requirements:

- Reliable transportation
- Availability to work weekends, early mornings, and holidays (including Fishing Opener, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day)
- Completion of DNR training and certification
- A smartphone with internet and app capabilities
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Physical ability to inspect watercraft and trailers

2026 Staffing Locations:
We are hiring for lake accesses in Cass, Todd, Le Sueur, Waseca, Blue Earth, Meeker, Isanti, Stearns, Sherburne, Dakota, and Hennepin Counties.

Canister Station Summer Hours:

Saturdays: 9:30 AM - 1:30PM
Sundays: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Mondays: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Wednesdays: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
