There have been 2 new positive COVID-19 cases today in the community for a total of 4 Active cases. At this time, one of the cases cannot be traced to the previous cases and is considered community spread. We would like to emphasize that getting tested the day you find out you're a close contact of someone who just tested positive is TOO SOON. You need to STAY HOME, isolate, and follow CDC testing guidelines. 14 day Quarantine is still SAFEST! We need to take the unnecessary strain off the clinic staff by following the mandates!!

The City of Ouzinkie has confirmed Joe Delgado and Tubby Torsen are willing to do shopping/grocery pickup for Ouzinkie community members and deliver the freight to either Island Air or the Tribal skiff. It is preferred to communicate with either of them FIRST to coordinate a pickup day/time that works with their availability and then place your order for curbside pickup online/through app/or over the phone. Safeway has a "Delivery & Pick Up" app to order through and WalMart is currently offering online ordering and curbside pickup.

If you need to pay Joe or Tubby directly for goods they both accept Alaska USA transfer. Contact info is below:
Joe Delgado: (907)942-9243 works from home 10-1030, 12-1, 130-2 but please verify availability first
Tubby Torsen: (907)201-0264

We are very grateful for their assistance and service to our community!

Also an option: If you place your order with Safeway no later than Sunday they will deliver it to the tribal skiff on Wednesday, make sure you tell them loading ramp then they will know to deliver it on Wednesday. If they do not have enough freight to go out to the skiff, they will not deliver it and you will need to find another way (perhaps one of the gentleman above) to get your groceries to the skiff. The tribal skiff is a great option that allows you to avoid freight costs on Island Air!

The City of Ouzinkie is going to Red Status. There are currently TWO COVID-19 positive cases in the community. Suggest all businesses transition to work from home status, schools are currently shifting to remote learning, the City is coordinating grocery pickup in Kodiak and will be posting information shortly. Bottom line: NO VISITING, STAY HOME!!

The Clinic is doing the best they can and to ease the burden we request any COVID related questions be directed to the City.

Good Morning Ouzinkie!

The City of Ouzinkie wanted to clarify the quarantine policy given the amount of travel still occuring in and out of the community, despite the Hunker Down Emergency Declaration. It is the position of the City that ANY close contact of a COVID-19 Positive person quarantine a FULL 14 days, whether they have symptoms or not and whether they test negative or not. You cannot test out of quarantine! It is the position of the City that ANY overnight travel off the island OR indirect contacts of a COVID positive person quarantine for 10 days and may resume normal activities on Day 11 provided they have a negative test within 48 hours and are experiencing NO symptoms.

Again, the City is encouraging residents to STAY HOME. We can limit the amount of people potentially exposed by not VISITING people outside of our homes. This is mandated in our Emergency Declaration: NO VISITING!

Please contact the City directly if you have any questions regarding this policy.
