Tonight didn't go our way. I congratulate Cindy Holscher for Kansas on her victory. What comes next for Kansas matters more than any one campaign.

To everyone who knocked a door, made a call, gave what they could, or just believed a healthier, fairer Kansas was possible: thank you. You built something real. The fight for quality health care that reaches every town doesn't end tonight. It can't.

I'm proud of what we did, and prouder of the people who did it. Kansas, thank you for letting me make this case.

Let's keep the fight going to ensure that Cindy wins the Governor’s Office in November.

The mayor of Overland Park, Kansas, made a last-minute entry into the Kansas Governor's race on Monday. Mayor Curt Skoog filed his campaign ticket in Topeka on Monday morning.

I got in this race because Democrats have to win the Governor’s seat in November and I believe a Mayor’s experience will appeal to most Kansans over an extended legislative debate.

I’m the Topeka outsider, a proven leader who gets results on the local level by building consensus, and solving problems. I have beaten MAGA Republicans and I won my re-election with 70% of the vote.

As Lt. Governor, Dr. Jen Bacani McKenney will be the best friend rural Kansans have ever had in statewide office.

We ask for your trust, your faith, and your vote.

I’m the only Democratic candidate with proven experience managing more than $500 billion of taxpayer’s money, delivering services that 96% of residents are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with, and who has won re-election in an evenly divided electorate with 70 percent of the vote.

I will appeal to the broad middle of Kansas voters and I can win in November if Democrats will honor me with their vote in this primary.

The New York Times just named Overland Park one of the Happiest Cities of 2026.

I'm proud of that, but a ranking doesn't make a city happy, its people do. Our teachers, first responders, neighbors, and small businesses are the reason we're on this list.

My job as mayor is to make sure their tax dollars work for them, and that's the job I will do as Governor for all of Kansas.

Wyandotte County Back to School and Health Fair at Homefield KCK.

KCK Mayor Crystal Watson knows how to build community and get things done for her constituents. Mayor Curt Skoog is talking with students and parents and Dr. Jennifer Bacani McKenney is working with a team of KU Med students who are seeing students in private consultation to make sure they are healthy and ready to learn.

This event is the best of Kansas and the type of hands-on community building and peer-to-peer leadership Skoog-McKenney will bring to Kansas as Governor and Lt. Governor.
