Come on out and PLAY!

10/14/2026

What a wonderful day as we opened Brody Rea's Boundless Playground with Michael & Brandy Rea Family Foundation, Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City, and Cunningham Recreation.

Special thanks to Scheels, The Golden Scoop, Chick-fil-A 135th and 69 Hwy, and KC Kona Ice for joining in the fun.

We still have a few finishing touches to complete, but the inclusive playground is open for play daily dawn to dusk (weather permitting) and is located on the southwest corner of Antioch and 137th Street in Overland Park.

Our Aquatics Supervisor, Shelby, recently completed training in safety, equipment maintenance, and preventative care to help keep our pools safe, efficient, and ready for fun.

Proactive maintenance protects patrons, extends equipment life, reduces costly repairs, and helps us care for our community’s resources.

She was also a featured speaker on effective programming.

Waiting to see what the weather will be before registering for Family Fall Festival? We see you and we get it! Kansas weather likes to keep us guessing, and nobody wants to commit to an outdoor event only to find out Mother Nature has other plans.

But here's some good news… the forecast is looking PERFECT for a day of fall fun! (We checked for you.) So, if you've been keeping one eye on the forecast and the other on that registration button, this might be your sign to go ahead and click!

Just a friendly heads-up… once Family Fall Festival sells out, we're sold out! We won't be able to accept registrations on the day of the event. And, each kid registered will leave with a pumpkin suitable for decorating, a bag (and we mean BAG) full of candy, valuable coupons, and a special treat.

Thank you to all our volunteer coaches who make a HUGE difference in the lives of our youth! Happy National Coaches Day.

On this National Coaches Day: Here's to the coaches who get it.

The ones who know that they're coaching more than just athletes.

They're coaching the next generation of humans who will go out into the world one day and be more than their sports talent.

They will go on to be leaders.
And employees.
And community members.
And parents.
And neighbors.

And when they do?

The number of trophies they've collected will matter less.
The stat lines will become history.
The win-loss record will be hard to recollect.

But what will remain?

Their ability to overcome adversity.
The way they treat people.
The prioritization of their mental health over everything.
The lessons learned about time management.
Their integrity.

So here's to those coaches who don't forget about that in the current culture that tends to focus on winning.

It doesn't mean they stop coaching athletes to to be their best when they play. It doesn't mean they stop coaching kids to win. Or that they stop doing technical drills or setting the team up for success.

It just means they realize that everything else matters more.

So to these coaches:
Thank you...

Thank you for teaching more than just how to win the game..... but how to win at life.

Fall tennis lessons are full of learning, encouragement, and fun. If that sounds like something your child or you (yes, we have adult tennis), our next session starts in the spring.
