It's because we've been students. And we know that students deserve better. As candidates for ASUN's student government election, we are committed to offering UNL students a better option on the ballot. Something that says, "Hey, things are going to be better." We've outlined four Immediate Impact Areas to apply our focus, which will in turn solve many of the campus issues we are facing today.
1.
Save Blackboard
We are aware of the reckless decision-making and turmoil that Canvas has brought to our campus. We intend on reverting all classes back to Blackboard, the pinnacle of academic software, by Fall 2017.
2. B1Gxit
Our university's involvement with the Big Ten Conference is unsustainable and harmful to our university's reputation. We can never be the best while we are forced to be compared to our peers. We will initiate the necessary proceedings to remove UNL from the Big Ten Conference by Husker Football Season 2018.
3. More Secure NU ID
Cyber security is a global issue facing our campus. We plan on introducing a 25-character alphanumeric NU ID for all students in order to prevent student information from being compromised (if it hasn't been already with our current system), and requiring a class for all incoming students to take that teaches the fundamental security practices one must exercise for protection online (including looking both ways before typing your password, accessing MyRed in Private/Incognito mode and permanently disabling your built-in we**am).
4. Bring the UNL Bandit to justice
For too long, the UNL bandit has brought nothing but trouble to our campuses. It's about time this criminal is behind bars. We are looking forward to letting you meet us and learn more about our platforms. Remember to vote on March 8 for something better.
