Highlights from our first three days of school - we are extra thankful to our Link Crew for their leadership this week, and the Class of 2030 is off to a great start in high school!!

It's our first full week of classes for the 2026-2027 school year! Fall sports are getting underway as well, and school pictures will be taken for student ID's and the yearbook on Thursday and Friday during your student's ELA class.

Thursday is our first late start day of the semester - classes begin at 8:40 AM, and the Bridge, cafeteria, and gym will be available for those who arrive prior to that time.

It was a great first few days, and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday!

Less than 24 hours until all of our Vikings are back in the building, and we can't wait to see you!

We will take the first two days to introduce students to all of their classes, review key building expectations, reconnect with our Student Services team, roll-out MacBooks, and have some spirited fun along the way.

**DON'T FORGET:
Electronic Devices must be left at home, stored in a vehicle, or powered off and secured in a locker. Electronic devices include but are not limited to cell phones, tablets / iPads, smart watches, MetaGlasses, Kindles, etc.

The countdown is on for our students to return, and we can't wait to see you!

Wednesday -
All 9th Graders are expected to be in attendance for the Freshman First Day and high school orientation activities.

Thursday -
All students in grades 9-12 return. Students will start the day in seminar - be sure to look up your teacher on Skyward!

Beginning Wednesday, the new electronic device policy will be in full effect - students should plan to leave their devices at home, in their car, or powered-off in a school assigned locker. Devices include but are not limited to cell phones, tablets/Kindles, iPads, airpods and other wireless headphones, Apple watches, Meta Glasses, etc.

We are excited to welcome all of our Vikings back to the building, TONIGHT for Back to School Night!

5:00 PM -
We will host a freshman/new student session in the auditorium, and a college credit options meeting in the cafeteria.

6:00 PM -
We will begin the open house portion of the evening, and students and families are welcome to walk the building, meet their teachers, and visit our supports and resources on the Bridge. We can help with Parent Square, Bound, Zum Busing, and more!

Students - for every teacher you visit, you'll earn a raffle ticket. Prizes offered tonight include the chance to win a yearbook, prom tickets, homecoming tickets, a reserved parking spot, concessions for a fall sporting event, and more!

The new teachers weren't the only ones working hard at West today! The SMWest Link Crew welcomed its 80 members to campus for a full workday in preparation for the arrival of our incoming 9th graders.

Class of 2030 - we can't wait to see you at Back to School Night this Thursday 8/6 and on your first day on Wednesday 8/12!!
