We want to inform you that CHOICE Technical Academy will shift to e-learning tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday due to a significant COVID outbreak within our school community. At this time, so many staff members are out ill that we are unable to safely operate our normal in-person school day.

Students should remain home both days and log in for learning. Attendance will be based on engagement in one of the following:

✅ Working on Acellus coursework

✅ Completing the assigned E-Learning Bingo Board

✅ Logging substantial, documented time on an existing project they are currently working on

Students may work at flexible times during the day, but they are expected to meaningfully engage in learning and make progress.

Additionally, Presentation Night scheduled for Thursday evening will be postponed. We know students have put a lot of effort into preparing, and we want families to be able to attend safely and fully. We will communicate a makeup date as soon as we are able.

Please reach out to your student’s advisor if you need help accessing materials or have questions about expectations during these e-learning days.

Also, a reminder that this Friday is a scheduled staff day (no school for students) and there is no school on Monday due to President’s Day. We will return to our usual schedule on Tuesday, February 17th.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to keep our students, families, and staff safe and healthy. We highly encourage all students/family members to be tested if they are experiencing any symptoms.

The Technical Academies of Minnesota school board is seeking a community member in the Owatonna area to join the board. The board meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm. If you are interested, please reach out to the school at (507) 400-4009 to get an application.
