We're now sitting at 1126.52 fts on the Straight River. It's continuing to rise but I think it won't be long until it'll start cresting. The trails along Morehouse Park is starting to see impact and flowing into the pond near the skate park.

What's crazy about this rain event is how narrow the heaviest rain totals occur. In between Wells MN to Waldorf MN, a narrow path of 2-9 inches of rain. Thats a 10-13 miles radius of a storm from north to south. Meanwhile, Owatonna had recieved radar estimate 1 inch and Albert Lea got around 1.50 inches.

Closing in on 5 inches of rain from Geneva to Mapleton MN. This storm has nudge north a little bit. Not expecting much a lot of rain along Highway 14 corridor. This line should eventually dip south through the early morning hours.

Heavy rain continues to fall over Highway 30 from Ellendale to Blooming Prairie. Areas had pickup over an inch so far.

Most of us picked up around an inch of rain from earlier today. Our focus now turn to tonight as storms already firing up along and north of Interstate 90. This is moving Northeast with time but will eventually move more easterly throughout the night. Localized flooding is possible in low lying areas. The Straight River will be filling up tomorrow!

This area in front of Federated Insurance on South Oak Avenue typically floods when we get heavy rain. This time, it was much higher than usual. It also wasn't going anywhere since it was standing water. Luckily I drove around it!

Lots of rain moving ENE and this might cause flooding between highway 14 and interstate 90.
