Owatonna Foundation Since 1958, we support Owatonna through Capital Grants totaling over $14million. We also award $40,000 in scholarships annually.

In the area of education, the Foundation provided $5,000 in 2024 for equipment and tools for the Owatonna High School Robotics Booster Club, for the new location for the robotics team.

Meet our Owatonna Foundation Board of Trustees!

Trustees volunteer their time to evaluate and decide the distribution of funds in the form of capital grants for specific community projects.

Chad Lange is a lifelong resident of Owatonna, who serves as President of Festal Farms Co. Chad graduated from UW-Madison with a B.S. in Food Industry and held different titles at the Owatonna Canning Company until he became President from 1981-1996.

He has also served with many boards and clubs in the community such as United Way of Steele County, Community Board of Wells Fargo, Owatonna Rotary Club, Owatonna Chamber of Commerce, Owatonna Country Club, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Francis Association, the Elks, and the Eagles.

He has been married to Karen for 65 years and has two children and three grandchildren.

Chad appreciates the Owatonna Foundation's role in the community, as the only nonprofit that grants funds for strictly capital projects (brick and mortar) for 39 years.

Meet our Owatonna Foundation Board of Trustees!

Trustees volunteer their time to evaluate and decide the distribution of funds in the form of capital grants for specific community projects.

Michael Jensen is a 1989 graduate of Wartburg College and President and Owner of TriM Graphics. A longtime community volunteer and advocate for Owatonna, Michael has dedicated his time and leadership to a wide range of civic, arts, nonprofit, and global organizations over the years.

Michael currently serves as President of the Little Theatre of Owatonna Board of Directors and as their Director of Marketing & Promotion. He is also an active member of the Owatonna Business Partnership, Rotary Youth Exchange Chair and Minnesota CD1 Director for Christians United for Israel. He was active in the Owatonna rebranding that happened recently.

His community involvement has included leadership roles with the Steele County Historical Society, Owatonna Rotary Club, Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, Trinity Lutheran Church, United Way of Steele County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many other organizations focused on strengthening the Owatonna community.

Michael joined the Owatonna Foundation because he believes in supporting projects and organizations that enhance the quality of life in Owatonna and create lasting opportunities for future generations.

The Owatonna Foundation supports capital-related projects that enhance our community, arts, recreation, and education, all thanks to your generous donations!

Focusing on the arts, the Foundation provided $45,443 in 2025 for capital-related improvements for the Shops at Rose Street, which now includes the Retail Collective, the Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace. Stop in to the Rose Street Center, 115 E Rose Street, to support these local makers and artists.
