Owatonna Foundation Since 1958, we support Owatonna through Capital Grants totaling over $14million. We also award $40,000 in scholarships annually.

The Foundation has four areas of focus: Community, Arts, Recreation, & Education (CARE).

Thanks to your continued generosity, the Owatonna Foundation is able to support capital-related projects that enhance our community, arts, recreation, and education.

In the community, the Owatonna Foundation provided a $100,000 grant to Benedictine Living Community-Owatonna in 2013 to build the hallway to connect their building to the Owatonna Hospital and the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.

Meet our Owatonna Foundation Board of Trustees!

Trustees volunteer their time to evaluate and decide the distribution of funds in the form of grants for specific community projects.

Andy Michaletz joined the Owatonna Foundation in 2014 as a Trustee and serves on the Finance Committee. Andy is a lifelong resident of Owatonna; he graduated from Owatonna High School and then attended University of St. Thomas and earned a degree in Finance and Business Administration. He owns and operates Poly Plastics Inc. in Owatonna.

Andy and his wife Rhonda have two sons and two grandsons. Serving the citizens of Owatonna and helping fund magnificent projects keep Andy interested in volunteering with and contributing to the Owatonna Foundation.

Focusing on recreation - one of our spring 2026 gratn recipients was Benedictine Living Community-Owatonna. Their outside trail was in need of repair so all residents and guests could enjoy it!
