Tioga County Department of Public Works The Tioga County Department of Public Works maintains County-owned roadways, buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure throughout Tioga County.

The Department of Public Works maintains the County roadways, bridges, and additional drainage structures to provide safe, driveable roads for the residents of Tioga County. Each year roads are resurfaced and repaired, bridges, culverts, and other drainage structures are repaired and replaced, and general highway maintenance is performed throughout the County. This work is performed with safety as

the first priority as well as utilizing funds in an efficient manner. The Department of Public Works also removes snow and ice from the County-owned roadways throughout the winter months each year. It is a priority to the Department to maintain safe, passable travel-ways during inclement winter weather. Public safety is the Department's top priority. The Department of Public Works also houses the Buildings and Grounds Department and the Solid Waste Department. The Solid Waste Department runs the County-Wide Curbside Recycling Program (http://tiogacountyny.com/programs-agencies/recycling/). The Buildings and Grounds Department maintains and improves County-owned buildings and facilities. Buildings and Grounds' goal is to maintain a safe, clean, and energy efficient environments where County functions can be performed. They construct new facilities, remodel existing spaces, and improve facility operational equipment to create healthy and safe environments for County employees to work and interact with Tioga County residents.

EAST RIVER DRIVE, north of Stanton Hill to the dead end, in the Town of Nichols, will have maintenance performed (oil and stone) on Friday September 12. Road will be open with one lane. Expect delays.

Goodrich Road is complete and open for travel.

UPDATE: Goodrich Road will be open for travel today, 9/12. Paving operations will continue 9/13 or 9/15.

UPDATE: Goodrich Road will be closed for paving operations Thursday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 12. Local traffic only. Please find alternate route.

GOODRICH ROAD, in the Town of Tioga, will have maintenance performed (milling and paving) on Sept. 11-12. Road will be open with one lane of traffic and flaggers. Expect delays.

UPDATE: The Culvert Replacement on Straits Corners Rd. between Wright Rd. and Chapel Hill Rd. in the town of Candor has been completed ahead of schedule. All lanes are now open for travel.

ROAD CLOSURE: Straits Corners Rd. between Wright Rd. and Chapel Hill Rd. in the town of Candor will be closed from 8/25 to 8/29 for a culvert replacement. Please find alternate route.

Sulphur Springs Road in the Town of Nichols was finished ahead of schedule. The road is now open for travel.
