Notice ! Violia will be doing water work in the intersection of Paige and Main st Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Paige st from front to east temple will be closed as well as Main st from Ross to Church. This will be something to plan for. They plan to only close it during the day to allow busses etc but keep in mind as you drive this week !

Just got off a call with the rail road, its official the "big boy 4014" is coming

Save the date
June 12th at 10:40am the train will stop just past the turn (the old grand central) on S.Depot st for 30 minutes. At 11:10 am it will depart heading towards Binghamton, where it will cross both our crossings at Main st and East Front st.

This will be something to see for sure.

What is the Big Boy 4014:
Union Pacific No. 4014 is the world's largest operating steam locomotive, built in 1941 by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) to haul heavy freight over the Wasatch Mountain range. It is the only one of the eight remaining "Big Boys" still in operation today, having been restored by Union Pacific in 2019 for heritage and excursion service. The locomotive is currently on its first-ever coast-to-coast tour in 2026 to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

Did you receive a notification you are enrolled in our emergency notification system today ? We tested our notification system today. If you did not receive a call, email or text you can sign up by texting "owego" to 24639. Or visiting our website and clicking on the emergency notification page.

The code red system is one way in the event of an emergency, flood, road closures, etc. Our residents will be notified. Note that the new system is much more location dependent so please when you register use an address within the village even if you don't live there. Feel free to put our address of 22 elm st if you'd like. This will ensure you receive any notifications.

A message from our dpw, they will be working nights this week to remove the snow from the business district. Please do not park overnight on north Ave, front, lake etc. (Your not supposed to anyway ;) ) Help us support all of our amazing small businesses!
