This evening, LT. Scott Worsham was volunteered by a certain other city employee (Dale Stone) to go down the inflatable slide at a family and friends cookout and fireworks event that he stopped by after work. All the kids were chanting and the LT couldn’t let them down by saying no. It turned into a “Little Engine That Could” moment as the size 12 boots didn’t want to fit in the steps on the ladder up. Fortunately he got his foot placement right and made it up and came down to the cheers of lots of kids and some adults 🙂 We hope you get a good laugh out of this as well. We did!

We are placing barricades at Old Highway 431 at Old Big Cove Rd. The river has risen so far out of banks that the water has covered this intersection. The water is several inches deep and muddy. Drivers of vehicles are at risk from the water and the hidden drop off at the edges of the pavement. More rain is on the way. Please be patient when driving and use caution as any area can flood with additional rain.
