I'm proud of the Daviess County Detention Center staff, who are vital to our community safety. The deputy jailers serve in demanding roles, which are often underrecognized by the public. Thank you for your personal courage and dedication in operating as a team to carry out our mission!

On this Good Friday, we reflect on the powerful love of our Savior, who willingly endured an agonizing death to take the punishment we deserve. No one could ever take His life, but He gave it freely as a ransom for All!

There is no greater love we are offered and no ultimate security we have in our lives outside the finished work of Christ, who is the Son of God!

Congratulations Deputy Yarbrough, and thank you for your service with DCDC!

Outstanding job, Gentlemen! Thank you for representing yourselves, the Daviess County Detention Center and our community well. I am grateful to Leaders Helping Leaders Network for recognizing them and their inspiring actions.

From Selfless Courage to a Unified Response That Saved Lives

When a critical arson incident erupted inside the Daviess County Detention Center, Sergeant Nicholas Tierney and Deputies Thomas Yarbrough, Tristyn Conner, Lane Dickens, and Matt Sands acted without hesitation. Working together under dangerous conditions, they extinguished the fire and ensured inmates were safely evacuated.

This is servant leadership in action — courageous, coordinated, and committed to protecting others when it matters most.
