🖤 Welcome Home William 🖤

For years, homelessness was his reality.

“Life before I came here was ugly,” he says. But after three months at St. Benedict’s, Bill is walking into a new chapter. Now he holds the keys to his very own apartment.

Bill says that the staff at St. Benedict’s reminded him that he still matters.

His advice to anyone considering St. Benedict’s?
“Just follow the simple rules. It’s an amazing place to get back on your feet.”

St. Gerard’s Maternal Home | St. Benedict’s Shelter

St. Benedict’s Shelter is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and mission-driven Program Director for St. Gerard’s Maternal Home.

St. Gerard’s provides a safe and supportive home for up to 10 expectant mothers experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or a crisis pregnancy. Our program provides shelter, case management, life-skills development, and connections to community resources as women prepare for motherhood and work toward greater stability.

Position Details:

* Part-Time: 20–25 hours per week
* Reports directly to the Executive Director
* Experience in social services, case management, nonprofit work, maternal services, or a related field is preferred.
* A degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience will be considered.

We are looking for someone who believes in treating every woman with dignity, compassion, and respect and who understands the importance of empowering women to build stable, healthy futures for themselves and their children.

🖤 Welcome Home Junior 🖤

When Junior first came to St. Benedict’s, he had been experiencing homelessness for several years.

When asked what is something that St. Benedict’s provided that made a difference, he said “tools to help myself” and the people around him made a lasting difference.

Today, Junior has accomplished something he is especially proud of: an apartment he now calls HOME !

His next goal is to maintain his apartment and continue loving his new life.

And his message to someone who may be experiencing homelessness and considering coming to St. Benedict’s?

“Seek help. Stay.”

Sometimes, a new beginning starts with simply walking through the door and being willing to accept the tools, support, and encouragement needed to move forward.

🖤 Welcome Home Chad 🖤

After more than a year of experiencing homelessness, one St. Benedict’s client is beginning a new chapter today!

Today, we get to celebrate a fresh start, a place to call home, and the reminder that homelessness does not have to be the end of someone’s story.

When Chad first arrived at St. Benedict’s, he described his life simply: “My life went sideways.”

He had been without a home for over a year, but during his time at the shelter, he found more than just a bed. He found resources, support, and a staff willing to walk alongside him.

His advice to someone who is currently experiencing homelessness is just as simple and encouraging:

“If you need a place to stay, come to St. Benedict’s. Your first stop should be there to see if there is a bed open.”

Congratulations Chad! We are so proud of you and wish you the best on your next chapter.
