Yellow Creek Park provides a multifaceted recreational and leisure opportunity. Nestled along the wooded banks of Yellow Creek at Thruston, the 152 acre park features hiking trails, multi-purpose sports areas, the Lambert Pioneer Village, and several outdoor pavilions. Other amenities that set Yellow Creek Park apart from other area parks include a swinging bridge, a refurbished one room school ho

use, a stocked 7 acre lake, and multiple walking trails. Yellow Creek Park is a frequent backdrop for both professional and amateur photographers. Family portraits and senior pictures are often taken near one of the two reconstructed covered bridges, the iron bridge and the James Lambert Pioneer Village. The Pioneer Village boasts two log cabins and two log barns that are the perfect setting for photos, weddings and family gatherings. More information on the James Lambert Pioneer Village can be found here. Sports enthusiast can also enjoy the multitude of recreational opportunities the park has to offer. Yellow Creek Park has a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, 4 volleyball courts, and 3 softball/baseball diamonds. The park is also home to an 18 hole disc golf course which has hosted several tournaments since its founding. Once a year the park is host to the annual River of Music Party (ROMP). The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller from the story by Washington Irving, will be showing at The Empress Theatre, sponsored by American Electric Power. 💵 Cost: $5 per runner

Registration Information:
Pre-Registered Runners: Look for the Blue Apollo High School tent. Tables will be organized by last name for quick check-in. You will make payment and receive your competitor number here.

Day-Of Registration: 4:15-5:15 - Look for the Black College View Middle School tent. There will be multiple tables set up, you may hop in any line you like. You will give our workers your athlete’s information, make payment, and receive your competitor number her.

👉 If you have Not Pre-Registered you may do so until 8:00 Monday evening. Preregistration is HIGHLY recommended. Please use the link below or scan the QR code on the attached flyer to to help us make things run smoothly on race day.

🏃‍♀️ Race 1 – 5:45 PM: Girls 2nd Grade & Under
🏃 Race 2 – 6:00 PM: Boys 2nd Grade & Under
🏃‍♀️ Race 3 – 6:15 PM: Girls 3rd – 5th Grade
🏃 Race 4 – 6:30 PM: Boys 3rd – 5th Grade

Importance - the first race will begin at 5:45 and from there we will be on a rolling schedule. If we can start races 2-4 a few minutes early we will do so.

Awards:
🏅 Top 10 runners in each race
🏅 Top finisher in each grade
🏅 Top school in each division

Special Guests:
🍧Kona Ice of Owensboro & Madisonville will be on site to help you cool down after your race!

Terry's Tees will also be at the park to help you commemorate the inaugural ES City-County Championship.
