C***s demonstrated his level of commitment and dedication in going above and beyond and exceeding the standard at DOCJT’s 20 week basic academy and will continue that level of dedication and professionalism while serving the citizens of Daviess County. Please join us in welcoming Boomer, DCSO's first ever "bomb dog!" Boomer is a one-and-a-half-year-old German Short Haired Pointer and along with his handler, Deputy Trent Smith, recently completed the American Working Dog Association's Explosive Ordinance Detection Course at the Knox County Sheriff's K9 Academy in Galesburg, Illinois. Boomer will help investigate suspicious packages, bomb threats, and can also search venues where large crowds are expected keeping crowds safe from explosive threats. Boomer was purchased using funds seized from drug traffickers. Congratulations, Deputy Smith and Boomer!

Case: 26-6570: The Daviess County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the male and female in the photos below. On 04/30/2026 and again on 05/01/2026, these subjects came into Rick's Tire in the 2700 block of Veach Road. Pay attention to the tattoos as they are pretty prominent in their locations.

It was an honor to attend the “Best of Owensboro Living” event and celebrate alongside so many outstanding organizations and community leaders. Some members of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to represent our agency at the event.

We are proud and humbled to have been voted Owensboro Living’s “Best First Response Agency” and “Best Owensboro Leader.” We recognize that we are only part of the system of amazing public safety professionals that provide first responder services in Owensboro-Daviess County, Kentucky. Congratulations to Patrol Sergeant Robert Bracelin #1108 for graduating the Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy of Police Supervision Class 106. APS is a three-week, 122-hour training course. The training program is a deep dive into how to positively influence groups of people, as well as how to apply situational leadership, demonstrate an understanding of constitutional and administrative law, emotional and social intelligence, ethical decision making, problem solving, emotional survival, and public speaking.
