A look at your local people in action!

OMU Water Distribution crews recently responded when a water main was damaged during nearby utility work, creating an unexpected geyser and giving the crew an extra shower on the job.

Despite the splash factor, the team quickly assessed the situation and made repairs without interrupting water service to customers.

A big thank you to our local crews for keeping their cool and working to ensure that reliable water continues flowing for our community!

When utility poles are damaged, our crews are ready to respond!

OMU crews replaced a utility pole at the intersection of Carter Road and McFarland Avenue yesterday after it was damaged in a vehicular incident.

Replacing a pole is no small task—it requires careful planning, coordination, and a strong commitment to safety while working to maintain reliable service for our customers.

Meet one of your local people: Isaac Malott.

As a Transmission and Distribution Engineer for OMU, Isaac helps support the systems and projects that keep our community powered. With a background as a field service engineer, Isaac brings a unique perspective and a wide range of experience to OMU’s Transmission & Distribution team.

Outside of work, Isaac enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha, whether that’s at the lake, playing pickleball, or a friendly game of Sequence. He also enjoys playing the mandolin, staying active at the gym, and smoking meat. And if there’s a University of Louisville football or basketball game on, chances are Isaac is watching.

One of Isaac’s favorite parts of working at OMU is getting to interact with local customers while contributing to important projects that help shape and strengthen our community. He also enjoys working alongside a team that is invested in the betterment of our utility and our community.

OMU was honored to welcome Soldiers from Bravo Company, 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), for a tour of the Cavin Water Treatment Plant.

The 249th Prime Power Battalion is known for having some of the best-trained electricians in the military and supports critical infrastructure and emergency response efforts across the country. During FEMA responses and other emergency situations, these Soldiers often help restore and power critical infrastructure such as water treatment facilities, lift stations, and other essential services.

As the unit prepares to assume ready status in June for upcoming work supporting local locks and dams, the tour provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about water production operations and the critical systems that serve our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you to our OMU Water Production team for hosting the group and sharing their expertise!
