We are grateful for current and, especially, former board members and executive directors who have and are building the foundation for success. We are grateful for our partners in our Sister Cities of Olomouc, Czech Republic and Nisshin, Japan and the cooperation that continues to grow and deepen between our cities and regions. It is because of that cooperation we are able to create a wide variety of programs that have earned international recognition over time. The seven of us honored to accept the award Friday night in Washington DC were standing on all of your shoulders.

We are excited to share that we were honored with the award for Innovation and Youth and Education for the city population of 100,001-300,000.
This is the 4th Award from Sister Cities International Annual Awards Banquet in 4 years.
Thank you Owensboro Area for supporting everything we do.
We greatly missed Board Member, Beck Schofield Glenn but know she was with us in spirit.

Seven OSCAR board members are currently in Washington DC at the 70th Anniversary Homecoming celebration of Sister Cities International. Yesterday we had our first full day of meetings and networking. We ended last night with a reception at the Japanese Embassy.

It is with a broken heart that we share the loss of our beloved Board Member and past president, Beck Glenn. Serving on the board over 25 years. With a heart for Owensboro Sister Cities and Regions, she was a wonderful person. With her years of dedicated service she has many “bonus” children from the Czech Republic.
