We are incredibly honored and excited to share that we have been selected as one of the five Impact 100 finalists!

To be counted among such an amazing group of agencies doing meaningful work in our community is truly humbling. Every organization represented is making a difference, and we are grateful just to have a seat at the table.

This recognition belongs to our entire team, our volunteers, our community partners, and especially the people we have the privilege of serving every day. Today, our Executive Assistant, Tabitha, spent time with the ladies creating vision boards, a fun and meaningful activity focused on hope, healing, and looking ahead.

Vision boards are more than just pictures on a page; they’re a reminder that every person has dreams worth pursuing and a future worth believing in. It was inspiring to watch each woman reflect on her goals, aspirations, and the life she’s working toward.

A special thank you to Audubon Area Community Services for generously donating most of the supplies that made today’s activity possible. Your partnership helps create opportunities for encouragement, growth, and hope for the women we serve.

Thank you, Tabitha, for investing your time, creativity, and heart into this meaningful experience. Together, we’re helping turn hope into action, one vision at a time. ❤️

🌟 Make a Difference in Just Two Hours a Week! 🌟

The Daniel Pitino Shelter is looking for caring, compassionate adults to help oversee children for one hour a day, two days each week while their parents participate in life skills classes.

This simple act of service provides tremendous value. It allows parents to fully engage in classes without interruption while also giving children an opportunity to have fun, socialize, and enjoy a positive break in a safe, supervised environment.

Activities may include:
🎨 Coloring and arts & crafts
🎬 Watching a movie
🛝 Playground supervision
🍧 Popsicle days
🎲 Games and other fun group activities

No special skills are required, just a heart for children and a willingness to invest a couple of hours each week in helping families succeed.

By giving parents the opportunity to focus on building skills for a brighter future, you're helping strengthen the entire family.

We're excited to announce that Stand Up for Families, presented by TTMA (Toyotetsu Mid America), returns on Friday, October 30th. Doors will open at 5pm, show starts at 6 pm at Grand Stables Venue for an unforgettable evening of laughter, all to support the mission of the Daniel Pitino Shelter.

This year's event features headliner Ricky Glore, with Timmy Barron returning as our MC, along with some incredible local comedians.
