Today, we’re celebrating 17 incredible years of Rebecca Roby at New Beginnings! 💛🎉

Since joining our team in 2009 as a Clinical Therapist, Rebecca has made a lasting impact on survivors, families, and our team. Now serving as our Clinical Coordinator, she oversees our clinical program, providing guidance, supervision, and support to ensure compassionate, individualized care.

Rebecca’s dedication and expertise have not gone unnoticed! In 2023, she received the Fonetta A. Elam Award for Excellence in Clinical Supervision, recognizing her outstanding commitment to the field.

Happy 17 years, Rebecca! Thank you for your leadership, compassion, and dedication to helping survivors find hope and healing. We are so grateful to have you on our team! 💙

Today we honor National Speak Up for Victims of Sexual Abuse Day. This is a day to give survivors a voice, inspire healing, and to remind everyone that speaking up creates change.

Silence protects the abuser, not the survivor. Let’s stand together, listen with compassion, and speak up for those who can’t. Every voice matters in building an abuse-free world. 💙

Being a Green Dot doesn’t mean you have to do something big or put yourself in an unsafe situation. It can be as simple as checking in with someone, creating a distraction, asking others for help, or speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.

Small actions can make a BIG difference, and everyone has a role to play in creating a safer community. 💚

You don’t have to over-explain, apologize, or feel guilty for communicating what you need. Setting a boundary isn’t about pushing people away, it’s about honoring yourself and what feels right for you.

Your comfort matters. Your limits matter. And saying “no” is enough. 🧡

Owensboro is officially a Green Dot Community! 💚

Two weeks ago, we had the honor of accepting the City of Owensboro’s Green Dot Community Proclamation, marking an incredible milestone for our community!

This recognition belongs to everyone who has helped connect the dots, our Community Prevention Team, Green Dot Spots, local businesses, schools, organizations, community leaders, and individuals who have embraced violence prevention and looking out for one another.

Green Dot is about connecting people and creating a safer, stronger community where everyone has a role to play.

A huge thank you to Mayor Watson, the Owensboro Board of Commissioners, and everyone who helped make this recognition possible!

This is just the beginning of what we can continue to build together. One person. One organization. One Green Dot at a time. 💚
