is a Christian agency begun by a group of churches, laymen and clergymen from different denominations in 1972. Its mission is to provide basic human physiological and emergency assistance to the poor and to prevent duplication of services. We are the “Clearing House” for all churches in serving the poor. To meet these needs the Help Office has an Executive Director, Woody Woodward, who supervises
a staff of over 100 unpaid volunteers. Volunteers interview clients to help determine their specific needs. A referral may be made to another agency or assistance given directly through the Help Office. Funding for this office has been made possible through the generous donations of individuals, businesses, organizations and churches throughout Owensboro. No Government Funds or United Way Funds are used or solicited. The Help Office serves Daviess County families in need of emergency services, local contributions serving local families. Each year we help local families… serving over 14,000 last year.
