June is PTSD Awareness Month.

PTSD is not a character flaw.
It is not a lack of strength.
It is not something people can simply "get over."

For many veterans, the battle did not end when they came home.

At Green Star Families of America, we know PTSD is part of many stories. Some veterans continue to fight and heal every day. Some families walk that journey alongside them. And some families have experienced the unimaginable loss that can occur when those struggles become overwhelming.

This month, we want veterans living with PTSD to know this:
We see you.
We respect you.
And your story matters.

Talking about PTSD does not make someone weak.
Talking about it may help save a life.

If you are struggling, call or text 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line.

On this day in 1984, the only American Unknown Soldier from the Vietnam War is laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC, attended by 250,000. President Reagan, named honorary next-of-kin, delivers the eulogy at the hero’s funeral and urges greater efforts to locate the more than 2,400 service members still missing. In 1998 the remains were later identified as those of Air Force First Lieutenant Michael J. Blassie, at which point he was finally able to be laid to rest in St. Lous for a hometown burial.

Started off our Memorial tradition with a protest at Congressman Guthrie's office to try to get him to co-sponsor HR 3057. No success but did get some interviews with a local news station. So maybe the press will guilt him into it.
