Happy Watermelon Day! In celebration, our Apron Club made a mouth-watering Watermelon Salad. Members sliced and diced up some sweet watermelon, peeled and chopped some fresh cucumbers, tossed in some arugula and feta cheese crumbles, and topped it off with a sweet balsamic glaze. Using fine motor skills and teamwork yielded the most beautiful and delicious afternoon treat, perfect for a hot summer day!

Water day tomorrow here with our friends from The Ability Center! We ask that our members who want to participate bring a change of clothes and a towel. (Sunscreen, and sunglasses are optional but recommended)

💦 Water Day with Active Day of Owensboro! 💦

On Friday, July 31, we'll be heading to Active Day of Owensboro after being invited to join in on their Water Day festivities!

Participants should arrive having already eaten breakfast or bring breakfast to eat before 9:00 a.m. We will return before our regularly scheduled pickup and bus times.

Please send:
🏖️ A change of clothes
🩴 A beach towel
☀️ Sunscreen (if needed)
💵 $6.00 for lunch
🍎 Snack and drink for when we return

Yesterday was our monthly Fire Safety Meeting, so we invited the Owensboro Fire Dept to come talk about Fire Safety. The firefighters listened to our meeting and were pleased with the great answered our members had regarding safe evacuations, both at the Center, and in their homes. We threw a surprise Fire Drill in there and all members were safely evacuated in 2 minutes and 26 seconds!! (So proud of everyone! Way to go!) once back inside, the firemen surprised us with our own OFD hats!!! Don’t we look good?!! Thanks again to Owensboro Fire Department for coming to speak to us today!

Hey AD family, Happy Monday!! Just a quick heads up, we have a visit from the Daviess County Fire Dept scheduled for tomorrow. Please do not be alarmed if your loved one comes home saying the fire dept was there. We will talk about Fire Safety, and could possibly have the firemen simulate an evacuation with us.
