The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Stonelick Township Hall, 457 S Broadway, Owensville.

Clermont County EMA Director Shawn Riley gave an update to the Board of County Commissioners on the county’s recovery following last week’s severe storms.

• Power has been restored after outages peaked at nearly 40,000 customers.
• All storm-related road closures have reopened.
• The National Weather Service confirmed the storm was a derecho and continues to assess whether multiple brief tornadoes also touched down.
• Some of the hardest-hit areas were in central and eastern Clermont County, including Jackson, Stonelick and Williamsburg townships.

The county is now focused on debris management and cleanup. Volunteer organizations remain available to help cut up downed trees for residents who are unable to handle the work themselves.

If you need help with storm-related cleanup on private property, begin by contacting your township’s fire department, trustees or administration. If the need cannot be handled locally, contact Clermont County EMA:

Food assistance will also be available Friday, Aug. 21, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Williamsburg Community Mission Food Pantry, 330 Gay St. More than 1,600 pounds of frozen and fresh food will be distributed while supplies last.

**Storm Debris and Yard Waste Removal Information for Stonelick Township Residents**

As the cleanup process continues following last weeks storms, we want to provide you with important information regarding spoiled food, and yard waste disposal.

🗑️ •Spoiled Food
Residents can place spoiled food in your weekly trash pickup.

🌳 •Woody Debris
Township Maintenance crews will be removing debris from roads and right of way’s for the foreseeable future. Please DO NOT place debris at the curb, ditches or right of way for pickup. Doing so can cause visibility concerns, be a danger if it’s too close to the roadway, and ditches and culverts can become clogged, creating potential flooding and safety concerns.

If a tree has made contact with your home, or outbuildings, contact your insurance company to see if you have coverage to assist with removal and cleanup.

Other options for for managing woody debris:
•Stockpiling wood for firewood
•Chipping or mulching
•Hiring a tree or landscaping contractor
•Composting
•Open burning, with a permit from the fire department

Some waste haulers may accept small amounts of brush if it’s cut into small lengths and bundled. Please contact your waste hauler directly to check on their requirements.

We understand that many of our residents have multiple trees down on their property and that the cleanup process can be very overwhelming. We’re hoping to have additional resources available to residents early next week to help with this type of debris removal.

Check with your insurance provider to see what type of coverage you may have for property damage, tree removal, food spoilage or other losses associated with this storm.
