We are getting complaints again today about scammers claiming to be with the Owen County Sheriff’s Office about missing court dates and warrants. We will never call about warrants or fines. Please do not give out any personal information over the phone.

There is a scam circulating where individuals receive calls from someone claiming they are with the Owen County Sheriff’s Office in regard to missing jury duty and threatening arrest if payment isn’t made. We will never call you about a fine demanding payment. Please hang up or ignore the message and do not give out any personal information.

The Owen County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Court Security Officer. Court Security is a part time position working a maximum of 99 hours per month. Pay is 15.00 per hour. Qualifications and duties of Court Security Officers may be found online by searching KRS 15.3971 and KRS 70.280. Interested persons may pick up and return applications at the Owen County Judicial Center. Questions may be directed to Officer Steve Delaney.
