The Bath County Cooperative Extension Office is now taking appointments to either redeem a previous card or obtain a new Senior Voucher Farmers Market Card.
Participants must be 60 years and a day old, as well as the total annual income for the household must be less than or equal to 185% of federal poverty level.

The Bath County Extension office is offering Beauregard sweet potato slips for residents to purchase. The cost is $10.00/100 slips. Beauregard is a red, 90 day variety of sweet potato. There is a limited number of sweet potato slips available on a first come first paid basis. 100 slips is the minimum number that can be ordered. they should arrive sometime in late May for pickup.

We will be hosting a round bale grazing field day on March 11 at 6:00 p.m. The field day will be held at the farm belonging to Dale Honn located at 8449 Spencer Rd, Mt. Sterling. Below is a program we are offering with some other central Kentucky counties. The program is a two part series that goes into detail on how to determine the type of bull you need on your operation. The program allows you to test your skills at the end with a mock auction where you get to bid on the bulls you think work best in your operation. This is a highly educational and fun event and I encourage you to sign up as soon as possible because we are limited to 50 people in the class. The two sessions are April 21 and April 28. Register by calling the Bourbon County extension office at the number on the flyer.
