Whether you’re a father by blood, a stepdad, a grandfather, a mentor, or someone who simply steps into a dad role when it’s needed, we think you’re pretty special.

The fire service is built on family, and some of the best examples of leadership, patience, guidance, and support come from the men who show up for others every day—both on and off the fireground.

To all the fathers and father figures in our department and throughout our community, thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and the example you set for the next generation.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our brother, Sam Fuller, of the Olympian Springs Fire Department.

Sam embodied the dedication, selflessness, and true heart of the volunteer fire service. He never hesitated to do anything that needed done, always putting others before himself and serving his community with pride and compassion. More than a firefighter, Sam was a friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

The members of Preston Fire Department are grateful for every moment we were able to work alongside him. His commitment to the fire service and the example he set will never be forgotten. We will strive to carry forward the same dedication, heart, and service that Sam showed every day—every call, every time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and our brothers and sisters at the Olympian Springs Fire Department during this difficult time.

Rest easy, brother. We have the watch from here.
