Please be advised that, in accordance with G.L. c. 2, ยง 6A, and a Presidential Proclamation issued on July 13, 2026, marking the death of United States Senator Lindsey Graham, Governor Maura T. Healey has ordered the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately today until 6:00pm on July 18, 2026.

This gubernatorial order applies to:

1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls
2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings
3. All state military installations

Please be advised that the date of interment for Boston Firefighter, Robert Kilduff Jr has been set for Monday, June 1, 2026.

Please be advised that the date of interment for former United States Congressman from Massachusetts, Barney Frank has been set for Monday, June 8, 2026. The flags should remain at half-staff until sunset that day.

Please be advised that in accordance with 4 U.S.C. ยง 7(m), Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately today, Sunday, May 24, 2026, until sunset on the day of interment, in honor and remembrance of Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr., who was killed in the line of duty. This order should be observed concurrent with the flag lowering order for former Congressman Barney Frank.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, in accordance with 4 U.S.C. ยง 7(m) and in honor of Memorial Day, the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag at all state buildings should be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until noon and be displayed at full-staff from noon until sunset.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag should be lowered to half-staff in honor of former United States Congressman from Massachusetts, Barney Frank, and Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr. Flags should remain at half-staff until June 8, 2026, the day of interment for Congressman Barney Frank, or the day of interment for Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr., whichever occurs later.
