The school year is hours away from starting and wow have we been busy! Call volumes are increasing, city population has exploded, and the available parking up town has vanished. While it may be stressful for our crews, it’s all part of living and working in a college town. Among the many changes, OFD has new neighbors, pretty cool ones at that! Corry, Mia, Samual, and Adella baked us some delicious cookies and wrote a nice letter introducing themselves to OFD (details redacted). We really appreciate the snacks, and hope you have a great year at Miami. If you ever have too many cookies again, you know where to find us, I think you may be on to something.🤣

Sorry for being the noisy neighbors.

We had a pretty cool visit today while out training. Three men stopped in to visit us, Two of them are doing a relay ride across America from California to NYC. Jim and Cory, with their support driver, Don, left San Diego, CA July, 14th headed East. As of today they have biked nearly 2,300 miles and have just about 600 to go. They’re riding in memory of 9/11 and celebrating the 250th anniversary of our great nation.

Jim and Cory were Naval firefighters aboard the USS Independence, Jim was also a graduate of Miami University. Among their route they will visit the Pentagon, Shanksville, PA (site of Flight 93) and Ground Zero.

We would like to wish these gentlemen a safe trip and great weather ahead.

Today at 1:42 p.m., our department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of Harris and Oxford Milford Roads.
Firefighting is always a demanding and inherently dangerous profession.
The extreme heat made today's response even more challenging, requiring our crews to work under physically taxing conditions while remaining focused on protecting lives and property.
We are grateful for the dedication and professionalism of all first responders who answered the call and worked together to safely bring the incident under control.
Thank you to City of Oxford Fire Department, who is our automatic mutual aid, Reily Firefighters Association, College Corner Fire Dept, Hanover Township Fire Department - Butler County, OH , and Seven Mile Fire Department & Life Squad for your assistance today! We are very grateful for your hard work!

EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS TO Don's Carry Out & Eric's Pizza for keeping us hydrated!!
