In regards to so many questions about our annual, Love Honor Care game, regretfully Miami Athletics has decided to go in a different direction this year.
The game will no longer support The Luna Cares Fund and instead another worthy nonprofit that supports cancer research in the greater Cincinnati area.
We are so grateful to have had this event for the last ten years and for all of you who were always there supporting us ❤️
We are in the process of planning new events that will be community involved in the near future!
We’re open to suggestions as we definitely want to involve our local community where our funds are raised and used. The women that are fighting cancer in our community remain our #1 priority!

​Directly support the financial needs of women and their families while undergoing treatment for cancer.

Thank you to Heather, the Middle School Honor society and all the students at TMS for their support for Luna Cares!! We were so happy to help another family in Oxford!

Talawanda students recently showed their true colors of their caring nature by holding a fundraising, hair-dyeing event to help a teacher battling breast cancer.

Still working valiantly to help our local women with cancer!! We’ll never stop.
The blood, sweat, and tears that go into making this successful seems so menial compared to our women’s struggles, fears, pain, exhaustion, and healing.
With the endowment we are building, this fund will be helping women long after we are gone and hopefully forever after until there are cures ❤️

A sincere Thank You to our OPD for their continued support of The Luna Cares Fund.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month the officers had the opportunity to purchase a pink badge for awareness, prevention, and for some, to honor a loved one who has battled this horrible disease.

💗 Chief Jones wears his pink badge in honor of his loving Aunt, Kathy, who was diagnosed and survived breast cancer.
💖 Lt. Lara Fenning wears her pink badge for her mother, Wanda, who battled breast cancer and became a survivor for many years before passing away to unrelated causes.
💗 Officer Matt Wagers’ Aunt, Linda, was diagnosed in 2020, and after successful treatments, she is on her way to remission.
💖 Officer Anthony Gilbert wears his badge in honor of his Mother, Mary, who is a breast cancer survivor.

Remember that early detection is your best chance of survival, so get your yearly mammograms and self check monthly. Do it for yourself and do it for your family that loves you.

If you are going through your diagnosis or treatments and don’t have family to support you, reach out to friends, or join a support group for the much needed love and care you will need.

The Luna Cares Fund was founded on the principle of providing financial assistance, resources, services, and needed wigs, during your journey to alleviate unnecessary burdens so you can focus on your health and recovery. (And, a readily available hug or words of encouragement) We support All women with cancer in addition to breast cancer. You are not alone as we have helped almost 600 women in our community.

Take a minute to stop and thank an officer of our department for all that they do for the safety, and well being in our community, as it’s well deserved.
