Join us in congratulating LaTeasha Blackmon, Senior Executive Assistant/Board Clerk, and Heather White, Executive Assistant, the first OSD staff members to receive the “Sustainer Pin” Award! 🎉⚡️

Thank you for your continued dedication and the impact you make across OSD! 💙

Hear what their current and former supervisors have to say about these well-deserving honorees below! ⬇️

Mrs. Blackmon:

Quote from Interim Superintendent Dr. Germain McConnell

"Ms. LaTeasha has always represented the Oxford School District in a positive, professional manner. She has served with 3 superintendents before me, and we all have depended on her wisdom and invaluable support. Since I joined the district, Ms. LaTeasha has made me feel like a part of the Oxford family."

Quote from Former OSD Superintendent Bradley Roberson:
"What I have always valued the most about Teasha is her ability to connect with all people regardless of circumstances. That is truly what makes her special to serve in the role she is in. She talks to people who are upset, angry, and scared; yet, she brings a calming presence."

Mrs. White

Quote from Deputy Superintendent, Marni Herrington

“Heather White is the person who keeps our department running. She takes care of what everyone needs, often before we even know we need it. She has spoiled us with her efficiency, thoughtfulness, and servant-hearted approach, and quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without her.”

Quote from Dr. Steve Hurdle, Chief of Operations

“I have worked with Heather since I was principal at OIS. She has always distinguished herself for hard work and initiative. I have never worked with someone who can handle so many different tasks and be so efficient and do it all with a smile. She is simply the best.”

Congratulations!💙💛

School safety is stronger when districts work together. 🛡️

Today, our team had the opportunity to support our friends in the Aberdeen School District as they work to update their crisis response plans.

Interim Superintendent Dr. McConnell, District Safety Coordinator Hardie Meeks, and Director of Communications Jill Knox shared Oxford School District’s crisis response plan, discussed key safety procedures, and helped identify next steps for moving their plans forward.

We’re grateful for opportunities to share what we’ve learned and work alongside neighboring districts to help keep ALL students and staff safe. 💙 Aberdeen School District
