Full circle moment at LUES

Former Lafayette student Quin Jones stopped by to visit his 3rd grade teacher, now Principal, Janine Lee. While he was here, he took a seat in the same classroom and at the same desk where he had sat as a student years ago.

Today, Quin is an Assistant Linebackers/Edge Coach at Louisiana Tech.

It's always great to see former students return and reflect on where their journey began.

LHS Boys' State Delegates

Lafayette High School seniors (from left to right), Reed Jordan, Ford Atkinson, Harris Byrd, Jackson Atkinson, and Christopher Fernandez-Interiano (not pictured) recently attended Mississippi Boys State on the campus of the University of Mississippi. During the weeklong program, these Commodores joined more than 320 students from across the state, where they learned about local and state governments as well as created and ran their own government. They campaigned for office at the city, county, and state levels, held elections, wrote, debated, and passed legislation. They also heard from guest speakers, including Sen. Nicole Akins-Boyd, Attorney General Lynn Fitch, Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson, and former Chief Justice Bill Waller.
