The Ventura County Harbor Department is reminding boaters that public pump-out services remain available at the East Bank Guest Dock near Fisherman’s Wharf and at Seabridge Marina. Two additional stations are temporarily out of service for repairs and construction. Crews are working to restore full service to the Peninsula Park pump-out station as quickly as possible.

Join us to kick off National Safe Boating Week at the 16th Annual Safe Boating Expo at Channel Islands Harbor.

The TSUNAMI ADVISORY for Ventura County was lifted at 5:19 AM on July 30, 2025. However, residents are advised to remain vigilant, as higher-than-normal tidal surges may continue along the coastline over the next 24 hours. A TSUNAMI ADVISORY remains in effect for Santa Barbara County, North to Humboldt County until further notice. For additional information on the remaining warning areas, please visit the National Tsunami Warning Center website.

(Update - 7:36 P.M. - the Tsunami Watch has been upgraded to an Advisory. A Tsunami Advisory means that a distant tsunami may cause strong currents and waves. Residents are asked to stay away from the shore in case of increased wave activity and localized flooding. Public Safety agencies are monitoring the situation and will update the alert level if needed. In the event of a tsunami, the estimated arrival time for Ventura County is approximately 1:00 am on Wednesday. Please visit VCEmergency.com for updates.)

ORIGINAL MESSAGE: A Tsunami Watch has been issued by the National Tsunami Warning Center (https://www.tsunami.gov/) for the U.S. west coast from an 8.7 earthquake, 80 miles off the east coast of Russia.

Currently, there is no immediate threat to coastal areas.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the National Tsunami Warning Center and all Ventura County coastal cities.

Based on current information, there is no need to take any action at this time. If conditions change, updates and instructions will be provided via vcemergency.com and through alert systems.
