Investigación de Colisión Fatal con Fuga del Conductor
Oxnard, California – El 30 de mayo de 2026, aproximadamente a las 4:03 p.m., oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Oxnard, junto con personal de Servicios Médicos de Emergencia, respondieron a una colisión de tránsito con lesiones que involucró a un vehículo y un ciclista en Fifth Street, al este de Harbor Boulevard.
Al llegar al lugar, los oficiales localizaron a un hombre de 53 años tendido a un costado de los carriles en dirección este de Fifth Street, sufriendo lesiones de gravedad. Junto a la víctima se encontró una bicicleta negra con daños significativos. A pesar de los esfuerzos realizados, el ciclista sucumbió a sus lesiones y fue declarado fallecido en el lugar.
La investigación preliminar reveló que el ciclista posiblemente circulaba hacia el este por Fifth Street cuando fue impactado por un vehículo desconocido que también viajaba en dirección este. Como resultado del impacto, el ciclista fue expulsado de la bicicleta y terminó a un costado de la vía.
El conductor del vehículo involucrado huyó del lugar de la colisión. Por el momento, se desconoce si el consumo de alcohol o dr**as fue un factor contribuyente en el incidente. La investigación continúa en curso.

On May 30, 2026, at about 1603 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded along with Emergency Medical Services to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and bicyclist at Fifth Street east of Harbor Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers located a 53-year-old male lying on the side of the road along the eastbound lanes of Fifth Street, suffering from major injuries. A black bicycle with significant damage was lying next to the male. The subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was possibly riding eastbound Fifth Street and was struck by an unknown vehicle that was also traveling eastbound. The male rider was ejected from the bicycle and landed on the side of the road.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the collision. It is unknown if impairment contributed to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
