🎄 Christmas Tree Lane – Opening December 7th🎄

Each year, our neighborhood comes alive with lights, music, and holiday cheer as Christmas Tree Lane officially opens to the public.

Traditionally, the opening has been on the second Sunday of December, but with the way the calendar falls this year — and with many residents already decorating early. This year’s official start date will be Sunday, December 7th, marking the first Sunday of December.

While some homes may finish decorating at their own pace, we encourage everyone to enjoy the spirit of the season as the lights begin to shine across the historic district.

We can’t wait to welcome families and visitors once again to celebrate one of Oxnard’s most cherished traditions!

🎄 The Search for Santa Paula’s Original Candy Canes 🎄

This week, Christmas Tree Lane in Oxnard received a special call that took us back in time to the 1950s. A gentleman reached out whose wife’s grandfather helped fabricate Santa Paula’s original 32-foot-long candy canes — festive icons that once lined Main Street from around 1959 through 1996.

After their retirement, some of these classic decorations reportedly found new homes — a few said to have been given to Candy Cane Lane in Ventura and others possibly to Janss Mall in Thousand Oaks. The family is now on a heartfelt mission to discover if any of these towering treasures still exist and, if possible, to bring one home to Main Street once more.

We’ve been given photos of the original candy canes to help in the search. If any longtime Ventura County residents remember seeing them, or know where one might still stand, please reach out — your memory could help reconnect a piece of local Christmas history.

Thank you to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, our cherished tradition (since 2002) continues as the Henry T Oxnard Historic District's F St. and G St. are lined with American flags. Special thanks to the local children of our residents for their volunteer efforts in helping installing the flags. Your dedication helps keep our community spirit alive.

From the residents of the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District and Wilson Neighborhood.
