Coalition for Family Harmony

Coalition for Family Harmony It is our mission to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Since 1976, the Coalition has provided victims of family violence with the means to help them escape their life of abuse – and for over 30 years, we have operated a 24-hour bilingual crisis hotline to enable their first step toward a better life. As we assisted more and more victims, we realized that we needed to implement a variety of services – essentially, a continuum of care – to optimize thei

r best chance of a permanent, successful transition to an abuse-free existence. Thus, a primary Coalition focus is not only directly helping the victim but eliminating violence in the home, underscored by our development of a comprehensive range of shelter-based programs for adult victims, parents, and at-risk youth – all of which are available in Spanish and English. The Coalition offers a variety of services to assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, as well as family and friends of those suffering from abuse.

Today, on Women’s Equality Day, we honor the generations of women who fought for the right to vote—and recognize that the work toward true equality continues.

At Coalition for Family Harmony, we believe equality includes every woman’s right to live free from violence, abuse, and fear, with access to the support, resources, and opportunities she needs to thrive.

For 50 years, we have stood alongside survivors and families throughout Ventura County, working toward a future where every person is safe, heard, respected, and empowered.

💜 Here’s to continuing the work—together.

What someone wears is never an invitation for sexual assault.

Survivors are never responsible for the violence committed against them. Clothing, appearance, or personal style do not cause sexual assault—only the choices of the person who commits it.

Too often, survivors are asked what they were wearing instead of asking why someone chose to harm them. Changing that conversation is one way we can challenge harmful myths, reduce victim-blaming, and create a community where survivors are believed and supported.

At Coalition for Family Harmony, we stand with survivors every day and are committed to providing compassionate advocacy, counseling, and resources for anyone impacted by sexual violence.

Together, we can build a culture of respect, accountability, and consent.

Children may not always have the words to describe what’s happening at home—but they see it, hear it, and feel it.

Exposure to domestic violence can affect a child’s sense of safety, emotional well-being, and development. Every child deserves to grow up in a home where they feel safe, supported, and loved.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. You are not alone.
