K-9 Ammo or K-9 Delta… which is the best police K-9?

We think they’re both pretty phenomenal and we are proud to call these two our own! Over the weekend, K-9 Delta was deployed to do exactly as she was trained… to sniff out hidden narcotics. While we’ve elected not to give out specific information regarding the case, just know K-9 Delta was successful!

K-9 Ammo shouldn’t go unrecognized as well. He is naturally hungry for the hunt and shows up every day ready to work.

Both K-9s are trained and certified in the detection of narcotics. Officer Kelcey Dendy is the certified handler of K-9 Delta while Corporal Roy Henderson is the certified handler of K-9 Ammo.

The concern of credit card skimmers is growing and what better way than to show you pictures from real investigations Captain Evans conducted so you know exactly what to look for.

⚠️Skimmers are devices used to capture debit card information which is later retrieved by criminals for transactions. Skimmers are commonly found at gas pumps, ATMs in less populated areas, and retail or grocery terminals.

⚠️ Protect yourself by using these simple methods:
If the card reader looks unusually loose, bulky, or different from other machines, don’t use it. Always choose a gas pump closer to the door in clear view of foot traffic and camera footage as these are less likely to be compromised. Most importantly, select the credit option when using your debit card to bypass the PIN number requirement.

A new year begins Thursday for Ozark City Schools and our School Resource Officers are back as of this morning! The safety of children is one of our greatest priorities so help us make sure they know who to look for around their campuses.

Officer Zeneth Glenn (known as “OG” by the students) is beginning his 10th year as an SRO in the Ozark City School system. He holds advanced certification for this role. Officer Tanner Bond is also returning as an SRO after serving briefly on patrol.

Both SROs are NASRO certified and can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces for the new school year!

‼️With phone scams on the rise targeting people for financial gain, it’s important to share with your loved ones of the most recent methods used for victimization.

🚩Individuals over the age of 60 are most vulnerable to phone related financial scams.

🚩Imposters pose as representatives of banking institutions via phone to obtain personal information. This is done so by claiming the account has been compromised and victims are asked to verify their information to correct the issue.
-When asked for social security number or account information via phone, immediately end the call and contact your brick and mortar bank to verify.

🚩Scammers call victims claiming they have won a substantial amount of money and to claim their reward, they are asked to mail gift cards loaded with funds to a specific location.

🚩 Romance scams are often conducted by meeting victims through a social media platform, building trust through constant communication and flattery. Scammers then ask victims to send large amounts of money to help finance their in person meeting.
- These scammers are often overseas and recovering the money for the victim becomes incredibly difficult.
-Never send money to anyone you’ve never met in person.

In an effort to combat the littering problem around business complexes, property owners have requested and allowed the Ozark Police Department to mount cameras to help identify possible offenders.
