Leadership Franklin County provides four basic services to the community and its membership.
•Leadership Development-A nine-month leadership program is provided yearly to a group of people in Franklin County for the purpose of developing a pool of leadership talent from which organizations may draw upon to meet its community service needs. Participants receive formal training in important skills such as leadership and team building.
•In-depth knowledge of Franklin County-The program provides an opportunity to learn about the county's history, geography, political structure, economic climate and more. Explore many of the challenges and issues facing our fast-growing county and learn about ways to get involved in the community.
•Community Impact Projects-These projects leave a legacy to the Franklin community and working together, class members use the tools, resources and information they have gathered throughout the year to make a positive and lasting impact.
•Networking-Graduates of the program come away with a new network of friends and associates. The graduates of Leadership Franklin County will have the opportunity to become members of Leadership Franklin County Alumni Association. Members will have the opportunities for continued involvement in the program and community service. Goals:
•Identify and select highly motivated potential/existing leaders each year to participate in the program.
•Thoroughly educate and challenge the participants as to the needs and opportunities of
the regional community and the dynamics of social and economic change.
•Develop a fellowship among the participants to provide a common ground for working
together on present and future projects.
•Create a dialogue and rapport between the participants and existing regional leadership.
•Stimulate within the participants an increased level of commitment and participation within their communities and regional organizations.
•Develop a renewed sense of enthusiasm, regional harmony and positive attitude

🌟 What an incredible day in Charleston! 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Frank Hug of Hug Chevrolet for generously hosting our venue and treating us to a mouthwatering lunch at Main Street Barbecue—it was absolutely delicious!

We kicked off the day with an inspiring morning session on Community Service and Volunteering led by Dr. Phillip McClure of McClure Professional Services. In the afternoon, we were privileged to hear from these dynamic guest speakers:

Mary Kate Weber’s, United Way of Fort Smith
AC Moncrief, Altus Area Sunset Rotary
Shelby Beasley, Director of Main Street Ozark
Karen Hawkins, Director of Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce
We wrapped up the day with a festive Christmas celebration that brought smiles all around!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event so special. 🎄✨

🚨 The Franklin County and River Valley Coalition (FCRVC) 🚨

We’re excited to announce the official establishment of the Franklin County and River Valley Coalition (FCRVC)! The necessary forms have been filed, and we now have a dedicated board of directors in place. A local CPA has also generously agreed to manage the coalition’s financial operations, ensuring transparency and accountability at every step.

This coalition represents a united community effort to oppose the construction of a prison in Franklin County. We’ll be sharing details soon about how you can donate to help cover legal fees, and we are committed to managing these resources with the utmost integrity.

We’re also looking for individuals and groups who are willing to help in this critical period. Whether it’s fundraising, legal research, or other efforts, there are many ways to get involved. Stay tuned for more information on how you can join the cause.

If ever there was a time for Charleston and our neighbors to come together, it’s now. Let’s stand united for our community’s future!
