***EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY***

A BURN BAN has been issued for the City of Clever on behalf of the City of Clever and Clever Fire Protection District. This is due to the dry conditions in the area. This means you cannot have any outdoor fires, including yard waste, until the ban has been lifted. This does not include a BBQ Grill or Smoker type equipment with all sides enclosed, although we do recommend having a water hose close by when you are using that equipment. This ban DOES include any type of fire pit or any other recreational fires.

This ban will continue until further notice until weather conditions improve. Thank you for your support and understanding.

☀️ Beat the Heat & Stay Hydrated: Sip water constantly before you feel thirsty, and limit sugary or alcoholic drinks. Dress in loose, lightweight, and light-colored clothing. Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—temperatures inside rise rapidly.
🔥 Backyard BBQ & Grilling Safety: Keep your grill out in the open, at least 10 feet away from your house, deck, or tree branches. Never leave a lit grill unattended, and keep children and pets at a safe distance. Keep food out of the direct sun; use coolers with plenty of ice for perishables.
🚗 On the Road & At the Lake : Expect heavier traffic—buckle up, slow down, and stay completely focused on the road. Pack a vehicle safety kit with water, snacks, a first-aid kit, and essential tools. Always wear life jackets on the boat and keep a constant eye on swimmers.
