MAJOR air quality alerts throughout Washington and Oregon, beginning in the morning hours. Winds shift overnight to coming from the SE, bringing wildfire smoke to even the coastlines as well as larger western cities. On top of this, there are heat advisories and near-100-degree temps coming to Portland, Salem, Vancouver, etc. Heat and smoke likely lasting through the 5th but smoke may cool the heatwave by a few degrees.
