Seeking a Water Monitoring Volunteer!

Do you live near Pacific City and enjoy a quiet visit with the river? We’re looking for a regular volunteer to visit East Beaver Creek every other Wednesday morning to collect a few water samples for our Water Quality Monitoring Program!

Role Description: Pick up and return your sample kit at the Kiawanda Community Center in Pacific City between 8:00AM and 1:00PM every other Wednesday, beginning July 8th and ongoing throughout the year.

You’ll be taking part in a county-wide Water Quality Monitoring Program that helps keep the public informed about safe bacteria levels in our local watersheds.

Accessibility Level: Vehicle transportation and the ability to walk a short distance from your car on grass and a gravel road/paved bridge is necessary to collect the water sample. From the bridge, you will use a rope and bottle to collect a small quantity of water. No wading, rock scrambling or in-water activity required :)
