*TRAFFIC ADVISORY NOTICE*

If you are out-and-about this Saturday in the vicinity of Lamar Parkway and Rose Lane, you’ll notice excessive traffic, pedestrians and temporary road traffic flow changes. The annual Bigfoot 4x4 Open House brings large crowds from around the world for its family friendly event.

+To help minimize congestion, general parking is available at both the Pacific High School (PHS) and Pacific Intermediate (PI) parking lots with free shuttle service available from 9AM until 3PM.
+Shuttle drop-off/pick-up will be on Rose Lane, east side of Lamar Prky.
+A temporary 4-way stop shall be implemented at the Lamar Prky/Rose Ln intersection.
+Drivers are asked to honor the posted No Parking signs on Rose Lane and Bosse Drive, and to avoid parking on private property without the owner’s authorization.
+Handicap parking is available at the west end of Rose Lane. Be prepared to provide official credentials at the PD checkpoint.

There is a likelihood of precipitation and thunderstorms along with a heat index of roughly 90 degrees. Attendees should plan accordingly.

We can expect another day of a heat index over 100 degrees before thunderstorms arrive between 6-9PM. Some of these storms can be severe including large hail, damaging winds. A chance of tornados is also possible, but more likely in the Level 3 Enhanced Risk zone.

Residents and visitors seeking some heat relief can visit the Scenic Regional Library Pacific Branch, 111 Lamar Prky, between 9AM and 8PM today.

While today's heat indices are forecast to be less than yesterday, they are expected to climb tomorrow to as high as 106 degrees, along with a slight risk of severe thunderstorms and high wind gusts in the afternoon.

Should you need to a cooling center, the Scenic Regional Library Pacific Branch is open 9AM-6PM today and 9AM-8PM Thursday.

HEAT ADVISORY for this afternoon with temp-humidity indices over 105 degrees. This can negatively impact those being outside, the elderly and others.

For anyone in need of a cooling center, the Scenic Regional Library Pacific Branch, 111 Lamar Prky, will be open today from 09:00AM until 08:00PM. Feel free to drop in and rest, hydrate and recover.

The forecast calls for Wednesday to be another elevated dangerous heat day. The library will be open from 9AM-6PM tomorrow.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time
outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

*UPDATE* A Flash Flood Watch is now in effect until 07:00AM CDT Tuesday.

A Flood Advisory has ben issued for our area until 11:15AM CDT today. Heavy rain impact can include minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways.

Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area.

There is a likelihood of flash flooding, hazardous heat and severe storms this week.
Per NWS STL, we are in a Flood Watch for today until 1AM Tuesday. Some isolated cells could include up to 2” per hour of rainfall.
This shall be followed by temp-humidity indices of 105 degrees or higher for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Then, on Wednesday into Thursday we have the potential for widespread thunderstorms.
