e of my positions on what I believe are strong points for a school board member are as follows:
Fair and Transparent Distribution of Tax Dollars: I advocate for fair distribution of resources to ensure that all schools within the district have access to funding for educational programs, facilities, and support services. Technology Integration: Keep the integration of technology into the classroom a high priority to enhance teaching and learning opportunities, while also addressing concerns about privacy, digital literacy, and access to technology for all students. Diversity and Inclusion: I'll always be a proponent of promoting policies and programs that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within schools, including efforts to address cultural competency, and create safe and inclusive learning environments for all students. Early Childhood Education: Support investments in early childhood education programs, such as pre-kindergarten and Head Start. Parent and Community Engagement: Understand the importance of parent and community involvement in education and pledge to actively seek input from stakeholders, collaborate with community organizations, and promote transparency and accountability in decision-making processes. Mental Health and Well-being: I’ll be an advocate to address the mental health and well-being of students by supporting initiatives to increase access to counseling services, promote positive school climates, and address the social and emotional needs of students. College and Career Readiness: Ensure that all students have access to rigorous academic programs and comprehensive career development opportunities that prepare them for post-secondary education and the workforce such as Trade School or Scholastic endeavors. Sustainability and Environmental Education: Advocate for incorporating sustainability education into the curriculum and implementing environmentally friendly practices within schools, such as energy efficiency measures and waste reduction programs.
